The RFA Class of 1969
Presents "The Big One!"
Our 50th Class Reunion
The "Big One", the RFA Class of 1969's 50th Class Reunion, is now a fond memory for all those who participated. All three main events, spaced over three days, August 9th, 10th and 11th, 2019 were each deemed unqualified successes by returning alumni, spouses and friends.
Friday night's Cocktail Party/Dinner-Dance at Teugega Country Club started the weekend off with a bang. One hundred twenty six people attended; forty two more than attended the 45th Reunion. Our own Anthony Joseph, a reconteur of spellbinding ability, acted as MC, regaling the crowd with anecdotes from our time at RFA, jokes and the perils of aging. Scores of door prizes were bestowed upon the party-goers.
Teugega's staff acquitted itself with aplomb by providing a spread cited by all, for both its variety and delectability from soup to nuts. The dance floor was continually jumping as the DJ blasted one timeless '60's hit after another. And let's just come right out and say it; there is no better music than "our" music.
Saturday treated us to the second annual Woods Fest Music Festival at Woods Valley Ski Area. Our own Class of 1969 tent served as HQ for the nearly 100 classmates, spouses and friends who attended. With nine bands playing every thing from country to 'grunge" and everything in between over a span of 12 hours it proved to be a music lover's dream. There were plenty of food and beverage vendors to sustain the enthusiasm.
The weekend eased into its finale with a wonderfully leisurely farewell brunch at the Delta Lake Inn. The brunch fortified alumni, spouses and friends with bottomless mimosas and fine fair to fuel their journey home.
